About Us:
We the SABS (Sisters of the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, St. Mary's province Kothamangalam ) sisters to begin a training centre for the INTELLECTUALLY DISABLED. Because there were more than fifty affected disabled children in the area and there were no institutions of this type for those children .
The children are grouped on the basis of age and IQ and trained to cope with their disability. The different groups are Pre primary, Primary, Secondary and Pre Vocational, Care group and Vocational training. They get training from basic self – affairs up to vocational level. Training for each child and for each group are planned separately before they could be trained. The growth of children is mainly because of the training they receive from efficient and well trained teachers who are so caring loving and patient. They are trained to meet their primary needs. (e.g.:- toilet training, eating, washing etc.) and gradually enabling to find out their livelihood by vocational training. Vocational training was planned and started aiming at the uplifting of the mentally challenged children to the main stream of the society. Vocational training facility provided here are making of soap powder , candle making , tailoring, horticulture etc. Apart from the training provided in different fields such as sports, games, dance, music, drawing, craft training also given to develop their ability in reading and writing. Knowing the fact that entertainment can bring desirable changes in the children. A well planned time table helps the institution to attain its aim. Much importance is given for the provision for dance, music, drawing and yoga in the time table. They are happy and satisfied in this house. We are also very enthusiastic to see them grow in self reliance and personal effectiveness. They themselves feel that they are wanted and valuable. Though are mentally weak, their stronger areas are found out, trained properly and encouraged constantly. For this purpose we are very earnest to find out and utilize the different organizations such as sports competitions, special Olympics, district and state level etc. We are very proud to mention that our children could bags of prizes both for the DISTRICT and STATE and INTERNATIONAL LEVEL in special Olympics. We have a good team of trained staff who are able to love these children. They recognize the children’s strengths and weakness and with proper care and support enable to face the realities of life.

Objectives of the institution:
(i) To engage in human welfare activities aimed at improving / advancement of mentally disable irrespective of race, community, caste or creed.
(ii) To provide social, culture, education and vocational using to mentally disabled children.
(iii) To provide vocational guidance to the children according to their apluied and function level.
